Summertown Baptist Church is here to share Jesus, worship God, teach the Bible, serve others, and love everyone!
Established in 1888, Summertown Baptist Church (SBC) has been a reflection of Christ to the community of Summertown, TN from the same location since 1900. Today our campus consists of a 300+ seat sanctuary, 16 classrooms, a fellowship hall, and surrounding lots for outdoor events. Our location is poised for exciting growth in northern Lawrence County and with a heritage of having a heart for our community, SBC has ministries ranging from local to international.
SBC is a member of the Lawrences County Association of Baptists, the Tennessee Baptist Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention and supports many of its ministries such as the Cooperative Program, Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, Annie Armstrong Easter Offering, Golden Offering for Tennessee Missions, etc.
Primary ministries include Senior Adult Ministry for ages 55+, Pre-School Ministry for kids ages 2 to 4, Children’s Ministry for kids Kindergarten to 6th grade, Youth Ministry for youth 7th to 12th grade, and Womens and Brotherhood ministries.
Our programs consists of Sunday School, Sunday Morning Worship (currently one service), Sunday Evening Worship, Wednesday Evening Bible Study, Royal Ambassadors (Wed.), Girls in Action (Wed.), Nursery, Bible Drills, and Vacation Bible School.
Other activities within our fellowship include Tuesday Morning Bible Study, Fall Family Night, July 4th Fireworks, Kids and Youth Camps, Senior Retreat, Summertown Senior Meal, Summertown Schools Teacher Appreciation Meal, First Responders Appreciation, and Upward Soccer.
Currently, our fellowship has three services per week and is averaging over 200 in Sunday morning worship and 150 in Sunday school. We are looking to the future with a building fund and thanks to God's goodness we are debt-free.
