JOB DESCRIPTION

PASTOR | CRIEVEWOOD BAPTIST CHURCH

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE

About Us

Crievewood Baptist Church is more than 70 years old, founded in the Crieve Hall area of Nashville, Tennessee in 1954. It was started in this community by young families that saw a need for a Christian-based Baptist church in their neighborhood. It has grown from meeting in the house of one of the founding families to a campus that includes a large sanctuary building, a fellowship hall, a growing pre-school, and a community center with a gym, walking track, exercise classes, etc. The Crieve Hall area has developed over time into a mixed community of young people and families as well as older residents who originally founded the community. Close to the Crieve Hall area are neighborhoods that house people of all different ethnicities as well as those of lesser economic means. We serve all those constituent groups. We have a Laotian congregation that has been with us over 25 years; and as members of Crievewood Baptist Church, they are very much a part of our church. We also house a Karen church, New Wave Ministry (serving a refugee population), New City Church (nondenominational Christian church) and have just started a chapter of Begin Anew (a program to help individuals overcome poverty by providing education, resources, and mentoring). Embracing an “Every Life Changed by Christ and Every Person Known” approach to the gospel, Crievewood Baptist Church upholds a strong commitment to biblical authority with deep reverence for scripture and a strong discipleship culture.
