Senior Pastor

Position Summary:
The Senior Pastor of ClearView Baptist Church will serve as the spiritual leader, shepherd, and primary teacher for the congregation. He will provide vision, leadership, and pastoral care, ensuring that the church remains faithful to its vision of making disciples and proclaiming the gospel from the neighborhoods to the nations. The Senior Pastor will collaborate with church staff, lay leaders, and members to advance ClearView’s mission and values.

Reporting Responsibilities:

• The Senior Pastor is responsible to the Personnel Committee and is a voting member of the Church Council.  Additionally, this position has direct supervisory responsibility for the Executive Team as well as eventual oversight and responsibility for the entire church staff.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Preaching & Teaching: Deliver Christ-centered messages that are biblically sound, engaging, and applicable to daily life. Collaborate with the Worship Pastor to develop meaningful and cohesive worship experiences.
• Vision Casting & Leadership: Lead the church in fulfilling its mission by clearly communicating and implementing strategic goals that align with ClearView’s vision and values.
• Shepherding & Pastoral Care: Demonstrate a heart for pastoral ministry by caring for and guiding members through life’s challenges, providing spiritual counseling, and fostering a strong community of faith.
• Staff & Lay Leadership Development: Equip and mentor staff and ministry leaders, fostering a collaborative and unified team that strengthens church ministries.
• Discipleship & Outreach: Promote a culture of discipleship that moves people from “consumer” to “disciple” through small groups, educational opportunities, and community engagement.
• Administration & Stewardship: Oversee church operations, ensuring responsible financial stewardship and adherence to church policies. Work with leadership teams to manage budgets and resources effectively.
• Denominational & Community Engagement: Represent ClearView Baptist Church in local, state, and national Southern Baptist Convention activities and maintain active involvement in the surrounding community.

Qualifications & Experience:

• A deep, mature faith in Jesus Christ with a clear calling to pastoral ministry.
• Master’s degree from an accredited Theological Seminary preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience as a Senior Pastor in a large church setting preferred.
• Strong biblical teaching and preaching skills with the ability to connect across generations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams with humility, confidence, and integrity.
• Commitment to the mission, vision, and doctrinal beliefs of ClearView Baptist Church.
• Experience in managing staff, overseeing church operations, and strategic planning.
