Job Summary:
Main Street Baptist Church, a small and loving Southern Baptist congregation in Mendenhall, MS, is prayerfully seeking a bivocational pastor who is called to shepherd our church with a servant’s heart, a love for God’s Word, and a passion for reaching our community with the Gospel. The ideal candidate will uphold the doctrines and values of the Southern Baptist Convention and lead us in spiritual growth, worship, and outreach. Our church values the rich heritage of Christian worship, including traditional hymns and gospel songs.
A church-owned parsonage is available to the selected candidate as part of the pastoral support package.
Responsibilities:
- Preach and teach biblically sound sermons on Sunday mornings, Sunday evenings, and Wednesday evenings.
- Provide spiritual leadership and pastoral care to the congregation.
- Support the church in community outreach and mission efforts.
- Work collaboratively with church leadership and committees.
- Be available for pastoral duties such as counseling, weddings, and funerals as needed.
Qualifications:
- A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a clear pastoral calling.
- Alignment with Christian doctrine and the Baptist Faith and Message.
- Previous pastoral or ministry experience preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, and relational skills.
- Willingness to serve in a bivocational capacity.
