Ministry Summary:

The Groups & Connections Pastor leads the adult ministry teams of ClearView Baptist Church. His leadership includes overseeing, equipping, and directing all adult Groups and First-time-Guest-to-Member Assimilations. He is responsible for implementing the vision and strategy of discipleship and spiritual formation while ensuring every person has opportunity to connect with a ClearView small group. The Groups and Connections Pastor will also oversee ClearView’s Missions ministry, aiming to connect all adult groups to a mission endeavor.

 Report Structure:

This position is full-time exempt and reports to the Senior Pastor

Primary Responsibilities:

1) Adult Groups

  • Implement Clearview’s vision for the role of adult groups in the overall discipleship pathway of the church
  • Shepherd and care for group leaders by providing consistent pastoral care, encouragement, and accountability for small group leaders through personal check-ins, coaching, and regular communication
  • Work with Deacon Chair to ensure every group has a deacon.
  • Work with Missions Minister to assure each group is involved in missions.
  • Oversee selection of curriculum with the ClearView’s core theological beliefs
  • Identify and recruit new leaders for groups and launch new groups

2) Connections

  • Streamline the process of first-time guests to member assimilation
  • Lead Starting Point Class
  • Lead PLACE ministry
  • Lead the greeter and guest hospitality ministry
  • Collaborate with ClearView staff to support the church’s mission, values, and operating principles.
  • Be a team player with a servant’s heart
  • Carry out other duties as requested

  • Demonstrate a mature faith in Jesus Christ and is faithful in worship, prayer, and congregational life
  • Endorse and displays the church’s mission, vision, values, and operating principles
  • Demonstrate care and concern towards church staff, members of the congregation, and the community with a servant heart and a positive, energetic attitude
  • Exercise high integrity, including maintaining the confidentiality of information. Exercise good judgment and positively lead and influence others

 

Key Components To The Role

  • Bachelor’s Degree and Seminary Degree preferred
  • 3-5+ years of Ministry Experience preferred
  • Ability to preach on a Sunday morning and teach for Group Leaders occasionally.
  • Ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing, respond to questions, and professionally interact with supervisors, co-workers, vendors, church members, and the public
  • Computer skills, including but not limited to spreadsheets, Microsoft Office, internet, email, and church management software required
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
