Associate Pastor to Children and Students

 

South Seminole Baptist Church is searching for an associate pastor to children and students. This position will be full time and will include overseeing both children and student ministries. (Pre-K-12th grade). 

 

Qualifications:  This pastor will serve alongside the senior pastor and assist him in shepherding the church by faithfully discipling the SSBC children and students.  As such, he should meet the godly qualifications given in Scripture for serving as a pastor of a local church (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; 1 Peter 5:1-4). 

 

Experience:  A minimum of 2 years ministering to children and students in a local church is preferred.

 

Education:  Theological degree from an accredited seminary is preferred.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the overall discipleship of SSBC children and youth.
  • Overseeing children and student Sunday school. This includes recruiting and equipping teachers as needed, choosing curriculum and connecting with parents of the children attending.  
  • Overseeing large group children’s service on Sunday morning and smaller group on Wednesday evening.  This includes recruiting qualified volunteers.
  • Teach and lead Wednesday evening service for grades 6-12.  
  • Equip and encourage students to be engaged in serving in the overall ministry of the church.  
  • Teach and lead students to be mission-minded and to engage in missions.  This includes planning and leading at least one mission’s emphasis trip or event annually.
  • Leading VBS during summer.
  • Assist in annual Harvestfest and JBall outreaches.
  • Plan and lead retreats, special events and gatherings throughout the year. 
  • Overseeing online ministry for students and children.
  • Equipping, enlisting, and encouraging teachers, leaders, and volunteers as needed.
  • Since parents are the primary instruments God uses to disciple their children, an emphasis on discipling and equipping the parents of SSBC students and children is a priority. 
  • Assist senior pastor as needed.
