PURPOSE
To assist the Pastoral Staff by providing clerical support in administrative duties, event support, maintaining member database, and overall ministry support.

RESPONSIBIILTIES
- Assist in executing focused initiatives for church growth
- Assist in outgoing church-wide communication
- Be familiar with upcoming events and planned church ministries
- Assist with managing leaders calendar and schedule
- Type correspondence and mail/email various letters, cards, etc.
- Review and edit documents as needed
- Know the policies of the church
- Make phone calls as needed
- Reconcile monthly credit card statements
- Prepare prospect information and assist with the execution
- Assist with preparation for meetings: photocopies, room setup, food orders, etc.
- Assist with pastoral travel planning as needed
- Assist with preparing for Wednesday Midweek events
- Must work well with other staff members and be a team player
- All other duties as assigned
- Manage the church database (Shelby) and membership information (Back-up)
- Process Membership Record
- Review prospect report and visitation feedback. Evaluate staff interactions
- Audit database and keep records up to date on an ongoing basis
- Create spreadsheets for guests attendance for staff meetings and small group leaders
- Assist with the receptionist desk as on as needed basis
SKILLS
- Ability to make independent decisions utilizing critical thinking skills
- Address specific task in a proficient and professional manner
- Ability to maintain schedules, calendars, and tasks with little oversight
- Ability to communicate well through email, letters, and other forms of communication
- Proficient with a computer, Microsoft suite of programs and Google docs
- Accountable to meet deadlines
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
HOURS
- Monday through Thursday 8:00am – 4:00pm
- 3-Day workweek would be considered
- Wednesday Nights: 5:00pm – 8:00pm
- Available for Sunday support on an as needed basis
- Available most holidays to support larger church events (Easter, Christmas, Mother’s Day)
- Total hours: 32-40 hours based on schedule and needs
CLASSIFICATION
- Support Staff: Non-ministerial staff work an average of 32-35 hours per week or more, are paid on an hourly basis and is a non-exempt position. The Ministry Assistant will perform general office work in relieving the supervisor of certain ministries.
