Position Summary

Connection Church, Mount Pleasant is seeking a Worship Director for our Sunday Morning Services.  The ideal candidate will carry forward the vision of the church:  Connecting People with Jesus for Life.  This part time, 10 hours/week, position has the potential to grow to full time with additional responsibilities over the next 5 years.  The Worship Director will report to the Senior Pastor.  The primary responsibilities include organizing and leading the Worship Team to lead our church in congregational worship. Secondary responsibilities include leading quarterly prayer and praise services on Sunday evenings.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan Sunday services  
• Manage Planning Center and Multitracks programs for team 
• Discover and introduce new songs while mixing other generations of songs into the routine
• Discuss with Pastor the set list
• Communicate with Tech Director stage set up for Sunday service
• Seek out, audition and onboard new worship team members  
• Plan team building events for the Worship Team
• Organize rehearsals and devotionals to be completed 15 minutes prior to service time
• Lead Worship during Sunday Morning Service
• Assist with Non-Sunday music events  
• Mentor other team members (Short-term private lessons for potential worship team members)
• Attend church-wide events minus reasonable exceptions
• Manage worship budget and spending with the assistance of Senior Pastor
• Attend weekly staff meetings

Qualifications

• proficient in instrument, and vocal skills with the ability to lead vocalists to blend with one another
• Personal relationship with Jesus Christ, commitment to the mission of the church through membership, and close alignment to the church’s doctrine.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to recruit, train, and lead volunteers effectively.
• Completion of background check.

Schedule & Reporting

Primary schedule includes Sunday mornings (Sunday Service 8:00AM-12:30 PM) and additional time for quarterly Prayer and Praise nights. Attend staff and planning meetings. Reports directly to the Senior Pastor.
